Overview
Why buyers choose it
-
Four parameters, one instrument
COD, BOD and TSS from one UV-visible measurement, with pH alongside, read on line instead of in the laboratory.
-
Cleans and zeroes itself
An automatic cleaning cycle sets the zero on the cleaning solution; upkeep is refilling it.
-
Built for suspended solids
Tolerates high suspended-solid loads without clogging, on industrial and municipal wastewater.
-
Remote access
A web-based interface allows control and troubleshooting from a laptop, tablet or phone.
In detail
COD and BOD are usually laboratory numbers: a sample is taken, sent off and reported days after the discharge it describes has left the site. This analyser reads them on line. It measures COD, BOD, TSS and pH continuously, so an effluent or sewage treatment plant sees a change at its outlet while it can still act on it.
The method is UV-visible spectroscopy: the analyser reads how the sample absorbs ultraviolet and visible light, and works the parameters out from that spectrum. The same measurement responds to organic matter, nitrate, colour and aromatic hydrocarbons. An automatic cleaning cycle keeps the optics clear and sets the zero on the cleaning solution, and the lamp is a long-life type, so routine upkeep comes down to refilling that solution.
It is built for dirty water. It tolerates a high level of suspended solids without clogging, which is what makes it usable on industrial and municipal wastewater, and external probes can be added for pH, ORP, dissolved oxygen, conductivity and turbidity where a site needs more. The recommended sample flow is up to 5 litres a minute.
Results appear on a 5.7-inch colour TFT screen, 320 × 240, with a backlit resistive touch panel, and the analyser stores 5,000 lines of measurements across up to 16 channels, each with date and time. A web-based interface lets an operator control and troubleshoot it remotely from a laptop, tablet or phone. It runs from 90–264 V AC, 50/60 Hz, in an epoxy-coated stainless-steel cabinet rated IP65, and carries CE certification.
