Overview

Why buyers choose it

  • Sends its own readings

A GSM/GPRS module logs flow rate and total and sends them over the mobile network.

  • Wired outputs as well

4–20 mA, pulse and RS485 remain for a local panel or controller.

  • DN15 to DN3000

Rubber or PTFE lined, with electrodes from SS316 to tantalum.

  • IP67 or IP68

The transmitter housing is die-cast aluminium, sealed to either rating.

In detail

This meter reports its own readings. A GSM/GPRS telemetry module in the transmitter records the flow rate, the total flow and the other values it logs, and sends them over the mobile network, so the figures reach a control room without a site visit or a cable run back to a SCADA panel.

Underneath, it is an ordinary electromagnetic flow meter. Coils put a magnetic field across the lined tube, the moving liquid induces a voltage in proportion to its velocity, and two electrodes pick it up. There is no moving part and nothing across the bore, and the liquid has to conduct.

It is made from DN15 to DN3000, with a rubber or PTFE lining, and electrodes in SS316 as standard or in SS316L, Hastelloy, platinum, titanium or tantalum where the liquid needs them.

The wired outputs stay available beside the modem: 4–20 mA, pulse and RS485, for a local panel or controller. The transmitter has a graphical display, runs on 85–260 V AC or 24 V DC, and is housed in die-cast aluminium sealed to IP67 or IP68.

  1. Transmitter with display

Converts the electrode signal into a flow reading and shows it.

    Display Graphical display

  2. Cable entry

Where the signal and power cables enter the transmitter housing.

  3. Field coil

Generates the magnetic field the flow induces a voltage across.

  4. Electrodes

Sense the voltage induced by the flowing liquid.

Electrode material SS316 standard; SS316L, Hastelloy, platinum, titanium or tantalum

  5. Insulating liner

Isolates the measuring signal from the metal tube wall.

    Lining material Rubber or PTFE

  6. Measuring tube

Carries the flow through the magnetic field.

  7. Earthing rings

Reference the liquid to the pipework's earth potential.

  8. Flanges

Bolt the meter to the pipeline.
