Overview

Why buyers choose it

  • The reading stays readable

Only the number wheels sit in liquid, so they stay sharp without the whole dial discolouring the way a fully wet register does.

  • Even wear on the bearings

Several inlet ports push the impeller evenly, which is why a multi-jet holds its accuracy rather than drifting off it.

  • R160 at class 2

Turndown and accuracy class declared together, so the low-flow claim is one a committee can check.

  • DN15 to DN50 on one page

A society connection and its bulk inlet are the same meter in two sizes, which keeps a spares holding small.

In detail

The reason meters get replaced is rarely that they have stopped measuring. It is that nobody can read them. A dial that has fogged, silted or corroded is a meter that gets estimated instead of read, and an estimated bill is a dispute waiting to happen.

This meter seals the number wheels alone in liquid rather than flooding the whole register. The wheels stay clean and sharp, while the rest of the register stays dry — which avoids the classic failure of a fully wet dial, where the liquid discolours over a few summers and the meter becomes as unreadable as the dry one it replaced.

It is a multi-jet arrangement: water enters the measuring chamber through several ports around its circumference, so the impeller is pushed evenly and its bearings wear evenly. That is what lets a multi-jet hold class 2 accuracy across an R160 turndown for its whole service life, at DN15 through DN50 with permanent flows from 2.5 to 25 m³/h.

Illustrative: how a meter of this type is built. This model's own materials and figures are in the table and its specifications.
  1. Lid

Caps the register and keeps water and debris off the dial.

  2. Register

Totalises and displays the water passed.

Register type Multi jet, semi-liquid sealed

  3. Register ring / seal

Seals the register housing against water ingress.

  4. Measuring chamber insert (with jets)

Directs several jets onto the impeller from multiple sides for balanced, even wear.

  5. Impeller

Turns with the combined jets and drives the register.

  6. Strainer

Screens out grit and debris before the measuring element.

  7. Body

Houses the measuring element and carries the flow.

  8. Tailpieces / connections

Threaded couplings that join the meter to the pipework.
