Overview
Why buyers choose it
-
Three bodies, one meter
Brass, cast iron or plastic, so the body suits the installation without changing the metering.
-
Adjustment inside or outside
Chosen to suit how the meter will be verified once it is in service, rather than after the fact.
-
Frost resistant register
The vacuum-sealed register survives the cold that splits a wet dial.
-
Magnetically driven, magnet protected
The drive is shielded, so the most common tampering route is closed.
In detail
This is the long-running class B multi-jet, offered with a brass, cast iron or plastic body and with the adjusting device inside or outside depending on how the meter will be verified in service.
The register is vacuum sealed and frost resistant, driven magnetically and protected against an external magnet. It covers DN15 to DN50 with nominal flows from 1.5 to 15 m³/h.
One point to read carefully before it goes on a schedule: this meter is declared to the 1993 edition of ISO 4064, in accuracy class B. The current edition replaced classes A, B and C with classes 1 and 2 and the Q1–Q4 flow points, and the two are not interchangeable — a specification asking for class 2 is not asking for class B. Where a tender names the current edition, the R160 multi-jet is the meter that answers it.

How a meter of this type is built, and what this model is made of.
-
Lid
Caps the register and keeps water and debris off the dial.
-
Register
Totalises and displays the water passed.
Register type Multi jet, dry dial, vacuum sealed
-
Register ring / seal
Seals the register housing against water ingress.
-
Measuring chamber insert (with jets)
Directs several jets onto the impeller from multiple sides for balanced, even wear.
-
Impeller
Turns with the combined jets and drives the register.
-
Strainer
Screens out grit and debris before the measuring element.
-
Body
Houses the measuring element and carries the flow.
