Who we are
This website, metryswatermeter.com, is run by Mega Worker Private Limited (CIN U80100UT2023PTC015406), the company behind the Metrys brand. In this policy, we and us mean that company.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act), we are the data fiduciary for the personal data this site collects: we decide what is collected and why, and we answer for it.
What this policy covers
This policy covers personal data collected through this website: the forms you send, the site assistant, the documents you download, cookies, and the records our servers keep when you visit.
It does not cover other websites we link to, such as YouTube, or how your own browser or device handles data.
What we collect, and why
We collect only what each purpose needs.
- Enquiries, quotation requests, demonstrations, appointments, complaints, distributor applications and tender packs. Depending on the form: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, organisation, city, state and country, and your message. We use them to reply, prepare a quotation, arrange a visit or resolve the complaint. We also note the page you sent the form from, any campaign tags in its address and the site that referred you, so we know which pages help people.
- Job applications. The same contact details, the role, your LinkedIn profile if you give it, and your CV. We use them only to consider you for a role.
- Newsletter and email requests. Your email address, to send what you asked for.
- The site assistant. The questions you type and the page you asked from, so it can answer. It runs on our own server and does not send your questions to an outside AI service. Please do not type personal details into it. If you use the microphone button, your browser turns your speech into text (Chrome sends the audio to Google and Safari to Apple for this), and only the text reaches us.
- Downloads. Which document was downloaded and the page that linked to it, so we know which documents are useful.
- Security records. To stop spam and abuse, we store your IP address and browser details with forms and downloads only in a scrambled, one-way form that we do not reverse. When you send a form, our server also keeps a short-lived session record that does hold your IP address and browser details, and our host keeps standard server logs.
When you send a form, our team receives a copy by email and you receive an automatic reply at the address you gave.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
How you give consent, and how you take it back
Each form asks you to tick a box agreeing to this policy before it sends. A newsletter sign-up asks instead for your agreement to receive our emails. Analytics cookies are used only if you choose Accept all, or switch analytics on under Preferences, in the cookie banner. Essential only keeps them off.
You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it:
- For analytics, choose Cookie preferences at the foot of any page and switch analytics off. Nothing more is sent to Google Analytics from then on. To remove analytics cookies already in your browser, clear this site's cookies.
- For anything you sent us, or to stop our emails, write to support@metryswatermeter.com. We stop using it for that purpose and delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did with your data before you withdrew it.

Who processes data for us
- Hostinger hosts this website, its database and its backups, and handles our email.
- Google provides Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies, and YouTube, only when you play a video.
Each uses the data only to provide its service to us. Some of these providers store or process data outside India. We do not transfer personal data to any country the Government of India has restricted under the DPDP Act.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and other form messages: 12 months from when we receive them. If one leads to an order, the order records are kept for as long as tax and company law require.
- Job applications and CVs: 6 months.
- Site assistant conversations: 90 days, then deleted automatically. Questions the assistant could not answer are kept without anything that links them to you, so we can add answers.
- Download records: 30 days, after which only daily totals remain.
- Spreadsheet exports made by our staff: deleted after 24 hours.
- Session records: removed after they expire. Server logs are kept by our host for a limited period.
- Backups: deleted data can remain in an encrypted backup for up to six months, until that backup is replaced.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you, what we have done with it, and who we have shared it with;
- correct, complete or update it;
- erase it, unless the law requires us to keep it;
- let someone you nominate exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to;
- resolve a grievance, as described below.
To use any of these rights, write to support@metryswatermeter.com from the address you used with us, or tell us which form you sent and when, so we can find your record. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act. There is no charge.
You can ask for this policy in English or in any language listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India.
Raising a grievance
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, write to our Grievance Officer, whose details are at the foot of this page. We will reply in full within 30 days.
If our reply does not resolve it, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India. The DPDP Act asks you to use our grievance process first.
Children
This site is for people buying, specifying or supplying water meters for an organisation. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to support@metryswatermeter.com and we will delete it.
How we protect it
- The whole site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
- Staff sign in to our admin with a password and a second factor from an authenticator app.
- Uploaded files are checked for what they really contain, and hidden details such as location are removed from images.
- CVs are stored privately and opened only by signed-in staff.
- Forms are protected against spam with checks that do not track you.
- Every change to published content is recorded against the person who made it.
- Backups are encrypted.
If a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the DPDP Act requires.
Changes to this policy
The date under this page's title shows when it last changed. If a change affects what you agreed to, such as a new kind of cookie, the cookie banner asks you again rather than assuming your earlier answer still holds.
Contact
For anything about this policy or your personal data, write to support@metryswatermeter.com. Our website is metryswatermeter.com. If you would rather send a letter, our postal address is below, with the Grievance Officer's details.
