Overview
Why buyers choose it
-
Rated to 130 °C
For lines hotter than the 90 °C at which standard hot-water meters stop.
-
Removable mechanism
The measuring element comes out without cutting the body from the line.
-
Magnetically driven dry dial
Vacuum sealed and unaffected by an external magnet, so it stays readable and is hard to tamper with.
-
Register turns 360°
The dial can be rotated to face the reader in any installation.
In detail
Standard hot-water meters are rated to 90 °C. On industrial and commercial lines that carry water hotter than that, a standard meter is working outside its rating. This Woltman meter is rated for water up to 130 °C, in flanged sizes from DN40 to DN200 with permanent flows from 15 to 250 m³/h.
It is a velocity meter: a rotor set in line with the flow turns in proportion to the velocity, which keeps the head loss low at the high flows a bulk line carries. The measuring mechanism is removable, so it can be exchanged without taking the body out of the line. At DN100 the meter starts measuring at 1.8 m³/h and is rated for an overload flow of 120 m³/h.
The register is a vacuum-sealed dry dial, driven magnetically and unaffected by an external magnetic field, and it can be turned through 360° to face the reader wherever the meter sits. It reads to 999,999 m³, in steps of 0.001 m³ up to DN65 and 0.01 m³ from DN80. A pulse output is available as an option.
The meter is declared to ISO 4064 in accuracy class B, the classification of the 1993 edition, with limits of error of ±5% in the lower flow zone and ±2% above it, and it is rated for 16 bar. It is installed with the register facing upward and the flow following the arrow cast on the body, behind a strainer, with ten pipe diameters of straight run upstream and five downstream, and the pipe kept full of water.
