Overview

Why buyers choose it

  • Light enough to hang

0.57 kg at DN15, so a service pipe carries it without a bracket or a chamber.

  • Five or eight wheels

The dial range is chosen for the scheme rather than fixed by the meter.

  • Painted or nickel coated

The coating decides how the meter looks after five years in a wet box, so it is a specification, not a finish.

  • Frost resistant register

Vacuum sealed, so a cold snap does not split the dial and lose the reading.

In detail

The workhorse single-jet in brass, covering DN15 to DN40 with nominal flows from 1.5 to 10 m³/h. At 0.57 kg for the DN15 it is light enough to hang on a service pipe without a support, which is most of why single-jet meters remain the default on a domestic connection.

The register is dry, vacuum sealed and frost resistant, with five or eight number wheels depending on how much dial range the scheme wants. The drive is magnetic and shielded against an external magnet. The body can be supplied painted or nickel coated — the coating being the part that decides whether the meter still looks like a meter after five years in a wet box.

It is declared to ISO 4064:1993 in accuracy class B. Where a specification calls for the current edition's class 2 and the Q1–Q4 flow points, the single-jet with the copper and glass register is the one that answers it.

  1. Lid

Caps the register and keeps water and debris off the dial.

  2. Register

Totalises and displays the water passed.

Register type Single jet, dry dial, vacuum sealed

  3. Register seal

Seals the register housing against water ingress.

  4. Measuring chamber

Directs the single tangential jet onto the impeller.

  5. Impeller

Turns with the jet of water and drives the register.

  6. Strainer

Screens out grit and debris before the measuring element.

  7. Body

Houses the measuring element and carries the flow.

Body material Brass, painted or nickel coated; plastic body optional

  8. Tailpieces / connections

Threaded couplings that join the meter to the pipework.
