Overview

Why buyers choose it

  • The overnight minimum becomes visible

Daily readings show the night flow, which is where a new leak announces itself long before the monthly total moves.

  • No lifting key, no permit

Readings arrive on schedule rather than waiting for a chamber under a carriageway to be opened.

  • IP68, because chambers flood

Submersion is normal service for a bulk meter, not an exception to design around.

  • Unchanged metrology

The same helical rotor and the same re-verification route as the mechanical Woltman.

In detail

Bulk meters are the ones nobody reads often enough. They sit in chambers under carriageways, they need a lifting key and sometimes a permit, and the interval between readings stretches until the district's water balance is being computed from numbers weeks apart.

This is the flanged Woltman with a wireless register, so the reading arrives on a schedule instead of on a visit. Once a district inlet reports daily, the overnight minimum flow becomes visible — and the minimum flow, not the monthly total, is what tells an operator a new leak has started.

The register is sealed to IP68, which for a bulk meter is a requirement rather than a specification: a chamber under a road floods, and a meter that survives being submerged is the difference between a scheme that keeps working and one that decays a meter at a time.

The measuring element remains the Woltman helical rotor, so the meter's metrology and its re-verification route are unchanged from the mechanical version. It is declared at an R160 turndown, and its built-in battery is rated for at least ten years.

  1. Register cover

Caps the register and keeps water and debris off the dial.

  2. Register

Totalises and displays the water passed.

Register type Woltman helical rotor with electronic wireless register

  3. Register seal

Seals the register housing against water ingress.

  4. Chamber cover

Bolted cover giving access to the measuring element inside the body.

  5. Helical-vane rotor

Spins with the flow along its helical vanes and drives the register through a gear train.

  6. Body

Flanged cast body that houses the rotor and carries the flow.

  7. Flange gaskets and bolts

Seal and secure the flanged joints to the pipeline.
