In detail
Purified drinking water is a different metering problem from mains supply. The water has had its minerals removed, which makes it more aggressive to ordinary meter materials rather than less, and anything that leaches into it undoes the treatment it has just been given.
This meter is built in sanitary grade 304 stainless steel throughout the wetted path — heat and low temperature resistant, corrosion resistant, and appropriate to water that will be drunk without further treatment. It is designed for the purified water line itself: a campus RO plant, a housing society's drinking water ring, a bottling or dispensing installation.
Metering is volumetric with a drip-counting structure, and the pulse collection is non-magnetic, so it is neither disturbed by nor vulnerable to a magnet. Prepayment and valve control are built in.
Reporting can be NB-IoT, M-Bus or LoRa depending on what the site already has, and users can top up from a phone rather than travelling to an office — which on a drinking water scheme is usually what decides whether prepayment is accepted.
